Frequently Asked Questions

How can a laptop stand improve my health?
With a general increase in the use of laptops as a business tool, organisations are frequently choosing to use them as a replacement for desktop computers, but laptops are designed primarily as portable devices and prolonged or continuous use can be detrimental to your health.
When combined with an external keyboard and mouse a laptop stand or laptop arm allows the user to work in comfort with the screen at the right height and the keyboard/mouse in the right position.
What about health & safety legislation?
Current UK legislation Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment) regulations 1992 as amended in 2002 states that employers must ensure laptop users comply with the regulations and recommends the use of equipment which mitigates the ergonomic disadvantages of portable DSE.
The Regulations require employers to minimise the risks in VDU work by ensuring workplaces and jobs are well designed. This includes home workers and laptop users habitually using a VDU for a significant part of your normal work. At you will find a selection of high quality products designed to help your business comply with legislation and support healthy computing throughout your organisation. Link to HSE Regulations
